I purchased this LED Floodlight to replace an old Halogen floodlight on the back of my garage. I am in a rural area on over an acre of land. My backyard at night is totally pitch black. I will start this review with what I’m guessing most people want to know after reading the description. First of all, yes, this fixture will easily replace the lighting you would get from a 250 w HPS (high pressure sodium) bulb. Actually the lumens are brighter and you will get less of that orange or yellow lighting and more of a white light.
Will this light save you money? Yes, the only way you would not save money over the 250 w HPS is if you get free electricity, and even then the bulb in this fixture is rated at 50k hours and the 250 w HPS bulb is usually rated around 24k hours, so twice the life.
Is this light easy to install? I found the light quite easy to install. The LED driver is already wired in, this came as a complete fixture. All I did was remove my old double spot light fixture, mounted this unit right below the electrical box from the old fixture, bought a plate for the box that had a hole for the wire, slid the wire through the plate and using three wire nuts I wired it in, put the plate on and that's it.
*A note when wiring this unit to your existing house wire, the 3 wires from this unit are brown, yellow & green, and blue. The brown wire is the live wire, the blue wire is the neutral and the yellow/green wire is your ground. You could also connect a 3 prong outdoor plug to this unit and use an outdoor extension cord to supply power in a temporary situation.
Is this fixture well made? I found it to be very well made. It has an ip65 rating which is more than just a waterproof rating. The ip code is an ingress protection code, the first numeral designates particle protection with 6 being the highest. A 6 designates the unit as "dust tight" no ingress of dust, complete protection from contact. The second numeral is the liquid ingress protection, this unit has a 5 which designates it as protected from water jets - Test duration: at least 3 minutes, Water volume: 12.5 litres per minute, Pressure: 30 kPa at distance of 3 m. The fixture also is designed with a fin type heat sink, which simply means it acts like a radiator to dissipate heat very fast. The unit is made of diecast aluminum with a corrosion resistant coating. And the glass face is tempered for impact resistance.
The size of the whole fixture is about 15 5/8 inches long by 12 3/4 inches tall and with the bracket in back about 8 inches off the surface. The mounting bracket allows the head to swivel so you can adjust the direction of the light.
I have this fixture mounted at about 23 feet above the pool deck in the pictures and about 50 feet from the furthest lamp post by the railing. The trees in the background are 75 feet from the fixture. I can easily see every blade of grass around the pool and deck in an area about 95 feet long by 75 feet wide. I was using two 150 w floodlights and had less area lit. I am extremely pleased with this fixture as it will save me money on my electric bill and is illuminating the area I needed better than I expected. I would recommend this unit to anyone.

Ok so I'm floored by this light. I thought I knew LEDs but no this is the maximus prime of all LEDs. Congrats BYB on this outstanding floodlight. Before doing this review i've been testing the light for a month. I left it outside in 32 degree weather all the way up to 78 degrees. We also had tons of heavy rain showers with zero leaks. I was mainly looking for humidity inside proving a leak but nope there was none. The color temp is perfect at 6000k. This is ideal for that cool crisp reproduction of color very pleasing to the eyes. The build quality is like a tank and the heat dissipaters on the back really do expel the heat. I left the unit on for 5 hrs straight and was able to touch the glass with no problem. I was also able to touch the rest of the unit with my bare hands feeling warmth but nothing causing discomfort. In conclusion I feel this is solid, very well priced, should cover a great deal of space and provide yrs of reliability. -

This light is incredible! By far the brightest light I've installed at the property upstate. I was a little skeptical at first but these LED's are super bright does a much better job at lighting the property than the previous old fashioned flood lights, I am also really happy to know that I am saving money with this LED flood light while it does a better job! It's a nice feeling. As for the unit itself, it's made extremely well & has held up extraordinarily well. There was a pretty big storm the other week & it handled it like a champ without any issues at all. Installation was very simple & anyone with any experience installing a flood light will not have any issues installing this one.
